Why are truffle products so expensive? - Valentina's word
As the owner and product selector for BottegaCremonese, I am often asked this question. The answer is simple: quality.
White truffle is one of the most precious products of the earth, a true gift of nature. It grows spontaneously in few regions of Italy and its harvest is possible only in certain periods of the year. Its rarity, coupled with its intense and unmistakable fragrance, determines its high value.
Moreover, the collection of truffles is a laborious activity that requires skill, passion, and a great deal of patience. Truffles cannot be cultivated or mass-produced: each truffle must be sought and collected by hand, often with the help of specially trained truffle dogs.
That's why I only choose products with precious white truffle for my selection. Yes, they have a higher price, but I firmly believe that quality has a price. Every time you taste one of our truffle products, you are tasting not only a unique and refined flavor, but also the passion, dedication, and craftsmanship that we put into bringing these gastronomic jewels directly to your home.
I hope you can appreciate the difference.
